Shane Michael Boose, professionally known as Sombr, (New York, July 5, 2005) is an American singer-songwriter.

Boose grew up on the Lower East Side in New York. He received his education at LaGuardia High School, where he was trained to sing classical arias in Italian and German.

At the age of seventeen, he decided to drop out of school and focus full-time on his musical career. In 2022, he released the single Caroline, which achieved 30 million streams on Spotify.

This brought him to the attention of major record labels, and Boose signed a record contract with Warner Records.

In December 2024, his single Back to Friends was released, which proved to be his breakthrough single. With this, Boose reached the Billboard Hot 100 and the Top 40 in various countries.

The song won the MTV VMA for Best Alternative Video and was the sixth most streamed song of 2025 worldwide.

In March 2025, a new single followed, Undressed, which was produced by Tony Berg. On May 20 of that year, Boose made his television debut during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

A few months later, Boose announced his debut album, *I Barely Know Her*. The album was released on August 22, 2025. The single *12 to 12* was released on July 25.

The song became a worldwide hit in the fall.
