Dolly Parton has reassured fans about her health after postponing performances last year. The eighty-year-old singer performed again on Friday at Dollywood, a theme park dedicated to her, following months of absence.
“I’ve had a few minor health issues and we are addressing them now. But everything is fine,” the eighty-year-old singer said before her performance, according to the American magazine Rolling Stone.
Parton canceled a series of concerts in Las Vegas late last year because she had to undergo multiple procedures.
Her sister subsequently called on everyone to pray for the singer, fueling speculation about Parton’s health. The country singer then reassured her fans. “I am not dead yet.”
2025 was a difficult year for Parton, as her husband Carl Thomas Dean passed away in March. He was the inspiration for the song Jolene, the American singer’s most famous song.
They had been married since 1966. “I was just a bit exhausted and worn out, grieving for Carl and a lot of other little things going on,” Parton said Friday in Dollywood. “I had to rebuild myself, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
But I’m back to my old self.”
