Former members of The Pussycat Dolls are outraged that they were not asked to join the girl band’s reunion. Earlier this week, it was announced that the group, which originally consisted of six members, is returning as a trio.
Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar have reacted angrily to the news. They were part of The Pussycat Dolls during their heyday and were part of the comeback in 2020. Sutta says on Instagram that the two heard about the reunion plans at the same time as fans.
“They have been planning this for a year and just didn’t ask Carmit and me,” writes Sutta.
Bachar has also expressed her dissatisfaction. She shared several posts on Instagram from fans who find it unacceptable that there is a reunion without some of the original members.
One of the posts she shared describes not letting Bachar participate as “betrayal and spitting in the face.” Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger announced the comeback of The Pussycat Dolls together with Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts. The trio released the new single Club Song and announced a tour.
The Pussycat Dolls also attempted a comeback in 2020. Original member Melody Thornton opted out at the time to focus on her solo career.
The singer is not participating this time either. The return in 2020 fell through after the release of the single React, because all activities had to be suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Pussycat Dolls enjoyed their greatest successes between 2005 and 2009 with songs such as Don’t Cha, Buttons, When I Grow Up, and Stickwitu. The group broke up in 2010.
At that time, there were also plenty of rumors of feuds between the singers.
