Country singer Luke Combs calls his weight one of the hardest things to deal with. The 35-year-old American said this on The New York Times podcast Popcast.

Combs explains in the podcast that at the beginning of his career, he was primarily unsure about his appearance. When asked what insecurities he had at the time, he replies: “Definitely my weight.”

The artist was afraid he would have fewer opportunities in the music industry because he was “a bigger guy.”

Although the singer was confident in his talent as a songwriter and performer, his appearance remained a sensitive issue. “That was a bitter pill to swallow, because you can’t really change your appearance.

I’ve always struggled with my weight. It really bothers me that I can’t lose it.”

Combs isn’t interested in a quick fix, such as diet pills. “I don’t want my life to be that easy. I like it when it’s a little more difficult.”

Combs is particularly successful in the United States with songs like “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma.”

He has won several Country Music Association Awards.

The country singer is known for his song “Fast Car,” a cover of the Tracy Chapman song of the same name.
