Mick Jagger’s Daughter Sees It As A Challenge To Bear His Surname

Jade Jagger finds it challenging to be the daughter of music legend Mick Jagger, the former model told Hello! Magazine. The name comes with a lot of expectations, according to Jagger, and she’s often compared to her father.

Growing up with a father who achieved so much meant that Jagger automatically lived in his shadow. “It felt like a heavy burden at times to carry the surname Jagger,” she says.

These days, that pressure is less. “The younger generation doesn’t really associate the name with that family history or legacy anymore,” says Jagger.

“For them, it’s more about things like the song ‘Moves Like Jagger.’ That’s actually taken the pressure off quite a bit, compared to how it used to feel.”

The 54-year-old Jagger is the only child of Mick Jagger and his first wife, Bianca Jagger, who separated in 1978. The Rolling Stones singer went on to have seven more children.
