Last year’s film F1: The Movie is getting a sequel, producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed to the BBC.

For months, rumors have circulated that a second installment would be made. It’s unclear whether Brad Pitt will return to the lead role.

“We’re working on a sequel,” says Bruckheimer, who also produced the first installment. He cannot yet confirm that Pitt will be back in the lead role.

“Of course, he will be involved in the casting decision for the sequel.”

In F1: The Movie, Pitt plays a Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport after a long absence due to injury. He is asked to help the fictional APXGP team and, in particular, to take young driver Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) under his wing.

The film, which was shot during real Formula 1 races with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, among others, grossed over $633 million worldwide.

F1: The Movie is up for four awards at the upcoming Oscars.
