Drake lost $1 million (over €840,000) on a Super Bowl bet. The Canadian rapper had backed the New England Patriots, but the Seattle Seahawks won on Sunday.

Drake shared a screenshot of his bet on Instagram in the lead-up to the Super Bowl. Many people in the comments had already predicted the rapper would lose.

“Congratulations to the Seahawks,” someone wrote before the game was even played.

Fans regularly refer to the so-called “Drake curse.” This is a supposed curse that afflicts athletes or teams when Drake bets on them.

For example, he previously unsuccessfully bet that Mike Tyson would win the boxing match against Jake Paul. The 39-year-old rapper lost millions of dollars in a single month last year.

The Super Bowl is the finale of the American football season and one of the biggest sporting events in the United States.

This year the traditional halftime show was performed by Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny.
