Doutzen Kroes‘s children aren’t allowed to bring their phones into the bedroom, the model revealed in French Vogue. Kroes explains that she’s trying to set a good example in her own screen time.

The Dutch model, who is on the cover of French Vogue for the third time, combines her work with motherhood. She and her husband, DJ Sunnery James, have son Phyllon Joy (14) and daughter Myllena Mae (11).

Kroes is taking on fewer assignments these days and dedicates most of her time to her children. “They teach me so much about myself. There’s no manual, you know.

They’re not perfect, and neither am I. It’s about us learning together, as we go,” Kroes says.

Kroes emphasizes that she’s mainly trying to plant “little seeds” about social media use. “I can tell them, ‘Stop being on your phone all the time,’ but if they see me reading, it works much better.

If I spend my time behind a screen, I can’t be mad that they do the same.”

Her daughter doesn’t have her own phone yet, while Kroes encourages her son to listen to his head and stop scrolling when necessary.

There’s a strict rule in their house: no phones in the bedroom.
