Max Verstappen has become a father for the first time. His girlfriend Kelly Piquet has given birth to a daughter. The girl has been named Lily.

The couple did not announce when Lily was born. It was already clear that Verstappen would become a father in the short term. On Thursday, his team Red Bull announced that he would miss the media day for the Miami Grand Prix due to the upcoming birth.

The 27-year-old Verstappen announced in December last year that he would become a father for the first time. The four-time Formula 1 world champion and Piquet have been together since the end of 2020.

Piquet is the daughter of Dutch Sylvia Tamsma and Brazilian former driver Nelson Piquet, who became world champion in Formula 1 three times.
